Bourton-on-the-Water

Misty start to the morning with beautiful day to follow. We took a drive to Bourton-on-the-Water is a picturesque little town – very busy on a Sunday in the holidays and with such great w
eather. Also known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, the Windrush River flows under some delightful stone bridges. The water is very clear, ducks swim peacefully and the beech, cherry and xxx trees are a riot of colour.

A little bit about Bourton-on-the-Water

Micah and Benji enjoyed a visit to the miniature railway display – 400 sq feet of scenic railway layouts with over 40 British and continental trains running. Micah also meet Drum, the children’s car of TV and storybook fame.

Drove through some very narrow, leafy lanes as a result of a traffic diversion however the payoff for all the twists and turns and sudden dives to the verge for passing cars were views of  stunning English countryside. Rolling green hills, ploughed fields and glorious autumn colours – every shade of orange, yellow and splashes of red. And stone villages and farmyards just like out of a James Herriott picturebook.
