Loving the look of Seattle

Spent most of the day in transit..SF to Seattle. Waiting in the airport, waiting on the runway and waiting to land! Very dry in CA, a historical drought, and certainly very brown from the air. Quite a contrast  to the “Evergreen State” of Washington.

Seattle – very picturesque on approach with snow capped mountains, water and fir trees.

27 ° on arrival and a nice view down the street to the waterfront from our hotel door. More on that later! We have a room on the 29th floor out over the city and part of Puget Sound.

Decided  to walk to the waterfront for dinner- downhill and much steeper than it first appeared. Worth the walk and loving the look of Seattle at first glance. Lots of old brick buildings and lovely tree lined streets. A very vibrant waterfront-colour,  characters and choice of restaurants on the various piers. Oysters at “Elliots” (30 different varieties to choose from), crab salad  and blackened rockfish with a very nice Sav from Washington State’s founding winery for dinner. Beautiful sunset over Puget Sound before we slowly climbed the hill to home!
