Aussie Adventures In the Northern Territory. DARWIN

Very early morning arrival so a quiet day planned. Woke to stunning views out over Lameroo Beach. It’s warm! Got to 34.

Darwin, capital city of Northern Territory , is the largest city in N.T. which occupies about one sixth of Australia’s huge land mass. The Top End of N.T here is known for tropical weather, crocodiles, rich indigenous culture, fishing, national parks and laid-back lifestyles. Administration Building pictured here is very attractive and nicely lit at night.

Darwin has a huge natural harbour and this was the area of Australia first attacked in WWII. Learn something new every day! Plenty of history to see around this as well as beautiful scenery around the water.

Spent the morning cruising around the harbour edge to Cullen Bay (think Pauanui waterways) and out to East Point Military Reserve enjoying the sights with the aircon on.

Great views across Fannie Bay to the city. East Point is a 200 hectare reserve with wartime history around the defence of Darwin. Noted the signs warning about crocs and snakes and other bugs! Alexander Lake in the reserve is the dedicated swimming spot with water well filtered to remove even the smallest marine stingers. A pretty spot.

Lunch down on the Waterfront in the cool though we had to endure the build up to the AFL finals showing everywhere. Biggest game of the year!

Enjoyed the evening warmth with dinner at a Greek restaurant overlooking Cullen Bay marina.
